WWII Photo Post – First Beer of the War: 1943 Pacific Theater Downtime

Trying to keep this post as brief as possible….. sadly we don’t know the identities of the soldiers chugging their first beers of the war, but the inscription on the back makes direct Bacchanalian references to the time and place of the photo. 1943.  Pacific Theater of Operations.

  1. Know that the pic has lots of tales to tell. Kind of reminds me of Nam. Just remembering the guys that I drank and fought with. TOTALLY AWESOME PICTURE. THANK YOU

  2. Anyone from 101st Army, 26th Infantry, Company I, who knew a soldier by the name of Raymond J. Edwards? Yankee Division. Fought in Pacific Theatre. Killed in Action Nov. 26 1944. I am his niece. Where can I get information on how he died….where he fought. Thanks
