A recent eBay discovery yielded this little gem for my collection. Original snapshots of Ernie Pyle are not uncommon, but this one can be tied down to a specific date. Ernie landed on June 7th, 1944 on D-Day +1. Enjoy this rare original photo!

Hi Folks,
I am in possession of 45+ love letters that Ernie wrote to my father in laws aunt. 10 letters for Ernie’s wife to my father in laws aunt. 11 books, two signed by Ernie with romantic inscription in one , both tommy father in laws aunt. 30 or so family photos of Ernie and family. Printing plate used for Ernie’s stock photo for Scirpps Howardand many other items that any collector would like to have in their collection.
My father in laws aunt was have a love affair with Ernie during 1941-1944 and we even have a letter he wrote from the Savoy Hotel in London during the mobbing of London and from which he wrote his famous article.
